A comparative analysis of chip shape, residual stresses, and surface roughness in minimum-quantity-lubrication turning with various flow rates

In this research, an experimental investigation was carried out to investigate the interaction between various turning parameters and different minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) flow rates compare their effects on chip shape surface integrity characteristics in low speed high of AA6061-T6. The included cutting speed, feed rate, depth cut. comprised 3.5 $$\mathrm{ml}/\mathrm{min}$$ , 10 15 consisted average arithmetic roughness, height peak from valley, axial hoop residual stresses. results showed that conditions including cut affected shape, while MQL rate had no impact shape. lowest values cut, equal 145 $$\mathrm{m}/\mathrm{min}$$ 0.07 $$\mathrm{mm}/\mathrm{rev}$$ 0.66 $$\mathrm{mm}$$ respectively, resulted smallest stresses for all rates. Moreover, roughness were obtained at (0.07 ) rates, whereas there rate. Finally, with lubrications is suggested obtain best overall characteristics. These lower are suitable reduce machining costs, protect environment, preserve machinist’s health. Since most previous research studies focused comparison environments dry, MQL, wet, cryogenic only a few works comparative analysis out, present can be utilized as reference future field.
